Chlorine and its side effects
Almost all countries in the world use chlorine to disinfect their tap water. This is a very inexpensive way of
disinfecting the water and it kills a wide spectrum of waterborne pathogenic organisms.
However, the chlorination process has the following pitfalls:
- The regular application of chlorinated water on your body results in your body's natural oils being
scrubbed off, leaving your hair and skin more vulnerable
- Chlorine oxidizes organic matter present in the water, potentially creating very hazardous
compounds (so called THMs)
- Chlorine Vapour, which can be inhaled during a hot shower, can cause constriction of the airway and
difficulty in breathing, especially for people with respiratory-related conditions.

KDF (Kinetic Degradation Fluxion) is a brass based filtration media that triggers a molecular reaction transforming chlorine and other metals such as lead, copper and iron into harmless substances

Granular Activated Carbon (GAC)
High quality activated carbon naturally filters residual chlorine and removes any unpleasant odor, taste or color.
It further filters fluorides and any other pollutants commonly found in tap water

Calcium Sulfite
Calcium Sulfite has strong power to instantly remove Chlorine and
Chloramines from shower water.
It is mineralizing the water quality, adjusting the PH value of the
water and also sterilizes various pathogenic bacteria.

How does it work
01 —
Redox Process
The KDF particles used in Elve filters are cmposed of
high purity copper and zinc that creates an
electro-chemical reaction (oxidation reduction
reaction or redox process). This process transforms
chlorine into chloride which is a completely
harmless substance. Similarly metals react with the
surface of KDF where they are bound and
effectively removed from the water.

Physical Adsorption
This process is mainly triggered by the activated
carbon particles incredible surface area. When the
water comes in contact with carbon,
intermolecular forces catch and lock up any
residuals present in the water.
